a valentines day picnic

Thursday, February 14

today was simple and beautiful.
kevin surprised me with joy-filled sticky notes all over the house.
he took me on a picnic to the park.
we rode our bikes because it was beautiful out,
and he bought all my favorites snacks...
"inner peas" from Trader Joe's {amazing!}.

we hugged neighbors,
and chased geese at the lake,
and laughed to the wind,
and thanked Abba for his good gifts,
and held hands like lovers do.

and danced in the sun.
because we are in love.

hope your day was equally as bright and cheery and full of love.
love Katie
{twirling, because what's a swishy dress without twirling?}

  1. A little jealous its warm enough outside for you to be wearing a swishy dress and having picnics. We are heading to the snow. yuck. And well, Kenya is not the most picnic friendly place I know. Maybe we need to move to california.

  21. Gorgeous photos of you both! aww. Sticky notes all over sounds nice. You get along well with neighbors which is so cool. Here in NJ, neighbors don't know each other at all. I know my landlord who lives downstairs, but then again, I've known him my whole life which is how we were able to get the place. It is sad. I actually like when we have devastation around here (like Hurricane Irene and Hurricane Sandy) because it meant people were talking to neighbors and getting to know them. Isn't it terrible? Ugh. We have a lot of crime around here which is why a lot of people haven't taken time to learn who their own neighbors are, but it is wrong of us. :( I think the fact that you hug your neighbors is a great and amazing thing to hear about.
