Sevenly- act because you care

Thursday, March 27

I heard about the brand Sevenly a few years ago, and immediately fell in love with it! It's an organization that has a number of lovely items for sale, and each week they give $7 of every item sold to a different non-profit organization.

This week Sevenly is sponsoring an organization called Not For Sale.

I read Not For Sale's book years ago in college, and it was the first book on human trafficking I ever read.

It changed me.

It showed me that trafficking exists all around the world, even our own country!

Not For Sale works to fight modern-day slavery. They provide direct services to victims of human trafficking and people vulnerable to exploitation, and attack the root causes through education, skill development and job creation.

The bottom line, is that they are legit.

Sometime's it's overwhelming to know how we can help stop human trafficking (a topic I wrote on here). Obviously for Kevin and I, this issue hits close to home as we lived in Nepal last year working with the most precious girls rescued out of trafficking.

But today, you have a chance to give towards a beautiful cause,
and walk away with some gorgeous items.

Today i'm wearing a Sevenly tank top with the inspiring message that says,
"No Act of Kindness is Ever Too Soon"

I want to live by this message.
The urgency to act kindly, even to people who live thousands of miles away from us!

The way we live our life,
the way we shop,
the way we talk,
what we write about,
all has an impact.

May it be a good one!

  1. This is a lovely post. I love being able to have clothing or other items that you wear out and its starts a conversation about something that matters as well as raising money for a cause.

I also love that your good intentions have come to action and you are trying to make a difference :) x

    the way we talk,
    what we write about,

  7. I love this! And girl, I have to tell you, I just found out about an aftercare home for girls who have come out of sex trafficking HERE IN MEMPHIS! It is opening in the next two months and I talked to a lady about it last night and am on the volunteer list now! I am so excited to finally be able to bring together these two passions (both for helping girls in that situation AND helping Memphis)!

  19. This is such a lovely post. Sometimes we can forget how lucky we are to live in big houses, cars, and abundance of food and reading posts like these makes me stop and think about how much I actually take for granted. I've never come across Sevenly before but it sounds like an awesome thing to be a part of! I know for my blog I want to eventually only write about cruelty-free products so that is the only kind of product I have been buying and just been using up everything else. What we write about can make a huge difference.
Hope you have a lovely day :)

  20. I haven't blogged or read blogs in awhile but I saw the email from sevenly and got so excited to see you. Just got caught up on your blog and felt like I was reconnecting with an old friend. My husband and I have been feeling God stirring on our heart big time lately to help fight human trafficking but honestly it's overwhelming, don't know where to start. I would love to hear more of your thoughts.
